that I've experienced for a long time was at a Bridging the Generation Gap event held by BigPinkHeart. I took part with about 5 other volunteers all aged between 17 and 23. We all wore hoodies and BigPinkHeart insisted that the ladies in the 'older' social group we were visiting also wore hoodies. It was great. We had 81 year old Mary running on the Wii with her hoodie on and hood up! She even beat Olivia who was 17! Assumptions are made very easily but this event brought home how easy it is to bridge the generation gap and meet strangers but leave them as friends!
