While on Facebook I came across a comment on Chris Evans' page from someone promoting a video made by Scalby School in Scarborough in memory of a courageous girl called Ellie. Although Ellie was suffering from terminal cancer she raised £25,000 for charity. This is the video that's being released on the 5th July 2010. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the trouble to start BigPinkHeart. It just gets you thinking about how we are conducting ourselves in our every day lives. I'm a busy mum of 2 and work full time and I know I'm blinkered a lot of the time mainly to just get through the day! I found the site via Ben's Brother and I'm glad I took the time to drop by. Having heard about a programme on BBC TV entitled Death of Respect, I thought I'd stop by and add my thoughts to the BigPinkHeart campaign. I found out about BigPinkHeart while twittering on Twitter! Why should it be so difficult to reclaim Respect? Surely this is a matter of everyone making an 'effort'; something which I think we are all guilty of not doing! A friend told me about the odd day she and her husband experienced yesterday. The car broken down on the way to work and not having a mobile phone with them she had to knock on the door of the house near to where the car had stopped. The owner of the house offered them his phone to call for a taxi and told them that they could park the car on his driveway until they had managed to get hold of the Breakdown services. Today's headline is about how our young people are responsible for most of the crime in our country! What do you think? In fact, let me ask you this question - were these children born like this? Another question, where did they learn this behaviour? How can we blame just one section of our society when the breakdown in social behaviour can be seen in all age groups!

I spent the day in London at the weekend and again was so impressed with all the Christmas decorations and the variety of goods for sale to entice us to buy for our loved ones and friends. I also experienced the shoving and pushing and lack of apologies from people who are just too busy to say sorry! It seems a lovely idea, but not if you don't need to close your eyes to do everything that everyone wants you to do. I live with four other people, sons, daughter, & husband and not once from the start of the week to the end does anyone of them do anything I need/want. I do everything alone, I gave up all my friends 20 years ago to raise kids and the closest I get to a smile or a kind word is from my gym instructor!
